Abstract

This text mainly discusses the philosophical issue of the relationship between political philosophy and governance, aiming to show that political philosophy is not just an abstract field for philosophers, but is essential for everyone, especially rulers and governments. You rightly pointed out that a government that does not engage with the fundamental questions of political philosophy while managing affairs cannot establish a coherent and structured system in the long term. Such a government is likely to make decisions based on short-term pragmatism or self-interest, which will be neither religiously nor rationally legitimate.

An important point you raised is that political philosophers examine fundamental principles, such as justice, freedom, power, and rights. These discussions are not only theoretically important but are also crucial in practice for creating an ethical and effective system of governance. In other words, political philosophy helps rulers ensure that their decisions are grounded in rational and ethical foundations, not just public approval, but because they are fundamentally right and sound.

In the historical experiences of countries, particularly in Iran, political philosophy must not only be considered in governance but also used as a practical tool in managing societal affairs. Without this, there is the risk of making superficial decisions based on momentary judgments, which ultimately harm the social and political structure.

These analyses can contribute to enriching the discussion about political philosophy and governance, emphasizing the importance of fundamental engagement with philosophical questions in governmental decision-making.
